Some people thought I should use this blog to convey the teaching of English through a different medium ..I'm trying...and I will do it...since I am still struggling with my newfound method..so please give me time ....I will post the necessary infos....SOON...

erti Sebuah Pemergian

Alhamdullillah Nini dapat meneruskan kan pelajaran setelah mendpat tawaran Asasi Sains Pertanian di UPM....my eldest daughter yang jadi inspirasi adik2nya nanti....sibuk buat persiapan terasa begitu banyak perbelanjaan yang perlu disediakan untuk permulaan anak-anak..insyaAllah untuk my 2nd daughter Nusaibah dah tahulah banyak mana nak keep aside......

20 Mei 2011 hantar Nini ke UPM....seperti yg dijangkakan memang ramai...450 pelajar yg mendaftar...cuma sayangnya UPM tidak menyediakan tanda arah yg betul....in the end mmglah berjumpa setelah jumpa Pak Guard...parting is sorrow...this time around we left her with an open mind because we are very proud of her achievement....we want her to do &  adapt well to the environment..let her learn...give her full support to what she aspires....

Sekarang tinggal yg 4 org kat rumah mula terasa sunyi...tiada lagi suara 'Huda, kemas mainan!', 'Mayyah angkat kain' ' Sebah dah solat belum'...ot ' Hanan, pegi ambil buku baca sekarang!'.....atau panggilan manja 'Ummmmiiiiii'.....'Ommmaaaa'.....

Memanglah UPM tak jauh tapi we may never be able to see her that often....all in all I just want her to do well...wishing her all d best...& pray that whe willl observe her religious duties without fail.....

I TEACH

In conjunction with  the Teachers' Day Celebration this 16th of May.....I share this inspirational poem with you...

I Teach

I teach because there is a great fulfillment that comes in working with my students,

I teach because I wanted to be a sculptor, and I can do so,

by shaping lives for the future

I teach because I wanted to be an artist, and I can do so

by  painting dreams for children

 I teach because I wanted to be a musician, and I can

in giving inspiration to children

I teach because I wanted to be a historian, and i can

in writing impressive passages of mankind

I teach because of the reward I receive when a child smiles or when he/she

says. 'Thank you, now I understand'

I teach because of the personal growth I receive each day

as I venture out on a quest for knowledge and techniques

to help my students understand

I TEACH  FOR IT IS THIS WHERE I CAN SEE THE WORTHWHILE

and TRUE FULFILLMENT IN LIVING....



I AM IMPORTANT......

One hundred years from now,
It will not matter
What kind of car I drove
What kind of house I lived in..
How much money I had..
But the world may be different...
because..
I was important..
In the life of a child....

you see, i will always feel myself as a VERY IMPORTANT PERSON... i may not get a special parking space for that matter...but i know in the thousand of little hearts that I have taught I may have a special PARKING SPACE......

teachers nurture the seeds of today so they might bloom into the flowers of tomorrow....knowledge comes, but WISDOM lingers...

my cup of tea today...will be shared by thousands of teachers nationwide...SALUTE!

BULAN MEI....

Bulan Mei....dia datang lagi.....segala macam hari & peristiwa penting....bulan Mei juga ada cerita2 peribadi yang hanya diri saya yang mengetahui...yang penting seluruh malaysia bakal meraikan hari penting untuk kami warga guru dengan sambutan Hari Guru...masa saya kerja sebagai junior arkitek dulu tak rasa seistimewa ini bila datangnya bulan Mei ..


Tapi bila dah jadi guru ...whaaaaa inilah hari yang saya paling nanti2kan...bukan menunggu hadiah apa bakal saya terima...sebab macam dah agak tak mungkin dapat hadiah yang banyak sebab mengajar anak-anak menengah tinggi tidak sama dengan anak-anak menengah rendah yang masih sifat ke anak-anakkan...jadi saya hanya rasa sedikit teruja kalaupun  dapat ucapan.." Happy Teacher's Day'....


Kalau ada orang bertanya kenapa tak teruskan karier sebagai arkitek??? Well jawapan saya paling mudah (walaupun agak cliche)....tidak ada orang sambut hari arkitek tapi satu malaysia sambut Hari Guru....dan setiap kali datangnya hari Guru saya tak pernah lupa semua guru yang pernah mengajar saya...ada diantaranya dah kembali ke rahmatullah...pada mereka semua anda wira yang tidak didendang...errr saya baru tahu ini adalah translation untuk 'the Unsung Heroes'.....


inilah secawan teh saya buat anda semua....saya selalu beritahu anak-anak 'I express myself better in English..that is probably why I'm destined to be an English teacher....' Cheerio..enjoy my cup of tea...

DUHAI HATI....

saya bukanlah orang pandai bermadah...untuk sekian lamanya saya paling banyak bertahan dengan seribu macam dugaan yang mendatang...dalam bentuk apa sekalipun peribadi  atau kerjaya sekalipun....acapkali kesabaran saya diuji.....saya hilang kawalan diri..emosi terganggu..saya rasakan ini normal bagi seorang wanita seperti saya.....Allah sayangkan aku ...itulah pujukan ke hati nurani saya...


Tapi janganlah sebut tentang anak, emak di hadapan saya....mudah saja airmata saya berguguran...kerana inilah ujian yang saya paling takuti....Terlintas dalan hati saya..Allah telah mengurniakan saya dengan lima orang puteri yang sungguh istimewa..apalah pula ujiannya nanti...emak pula orang sangat penting dalam hidup ini....bila pula Allah akan memanggilnya & diwaktu itu nanti sudahkan aku bersedia...Dan Allah akan menguji kita walau dalam keadaan apa sekalipun.....


jadi saya hargai apa yg Allah berikan kepada saya.......ALHAMDULILLAH...all praises to Allah...

Water water everywhere...

It rained heavily yesterday.....and within half an hour my house was flooded...I just could not complained as I always thought there were more unfortunate people out there who could be in a much worse situation....

My instinct told me that something bad might happened as the rain was too heavy with wind, lightning and thunder roared across the sky....Immediately my other half who was in the house hekped around as I woke the children to help out as well....

At a time like this nothing much could be done, we just waited patiently for the water to subside...the hardwork came after as there were plenty of clean-ups to be done...Everything completed around 8.00 pm....the we sat down for a simple dinner over 'pasar malam' food...we savour every little bit...phewww what a night

The ABC of Parenting

Throughout the years of beinag a parent to 5 beautiful girls...there were no clear cut guidelines as to how I should be a great Mom...it is always a little bit of this and a little bit of that....I also learnt a lot from my own mother ,,,or from various resources,,,most of the time going back to the teachings of Islam....now that is a real challenge...but  this little poem here really inspires me...so enjoy reading...

The Abc of Parenting

Ask your child about the school day

Begin your child's day with anourishing breakfast

Congratulate your child for doing well

Discuss homework with your child

Encourage your child to read

Find a quiet place for your child to study

Give your child responsibility

Hug your child to build self worth

Include your child in making simple family decisions

Join a library with your child

Keep your child on a schedule that includes exercise and sleep

Limit TV viewing by selecting programs with your child

Make the time you spend with your child special

Notice and discuss changes in your child's behaviour

Offer to help your child organize school papers

Provide your child with good role models

Question the activities your child shares with friends

Respect your child's right to have opinions different from yours

Share an interest or a hobby with your child

Take time to listen to your child

Urge your child to say 'No' to unwanted touching

Visit places of interest with your child

Work with your child to set up rules of behaviour

Xerox and save records or articles that benefit your child

Yield results by encouraging your child to do better

Zoom through these ABC's again and again....

One fine day....

Finally... I have time for myself......wow, there are a lot of things to be completed ...though it may be the least favourite job on earth when it comes to filing....but I always putting others in my shoes...what if  whoever that will replace me in the future have to find some important documents....?? what if they were this and they were that...


Contrary to popular belief, teachers in my school normally would stay back until 5 pm....what do we do?? A lot...there are extra classes, co-curricular activities, completing personal files, and the list goes on and on....


Oh well.... what a boring discussion....enough...here is a more important issues...SHOULD WE RETURN TO ENGLISH FOR MATHS AND SCIENCES...??? As an English teacher I am very positive about this...my children are used to the language...they are very comfortable with Englsih  because in my household English is often used ,,,but my heart goes to those who are in the remote area like Ulu Tembeling for example....how are they going to adapt to the language...


That is my cup of tea with you...

Just Getting Started...

Assalamulaikum semua...& selamat datang ke blog ini....with the help from my daughter Zinneerah this blog reappears...never knew I had one before back in 2005...well probably it was more like a trial & error back then.....

So ..what's up..? A lot actually...when it comes to education, specifically career wise this is the path that I have taken for the past 11 years or so....to compare to others...i'm quite new..in this field..age wise...probably not.

There we are in the midst of catching up with what's going in the world of education, grades, NKRA, achieving the  vision and mission of KPM..Pre- University, High Performance School...and so forth....
Perhaps with all the hoo-hah of all these...we still not forgetting the real core business,, to teach, to educate...you name it...thinking what our children might be fall short of if we keep busy with all the unncessary (well, that's how i feel) things bring tears to my eyes....

but then again ..this is just a cup of tea that I want to share with all of you...
